Program Director

Our client is a Queensland government department located on the northside of Brisbane. They are seeking the services of a Program Director for a 12 month contract and expectation of being extended for at least another year beyond the initial engagement. 

In this position you will be responsible for the delivery of a Information Management (IM) program and its constituent projects and initiatives, overseeing development of all program and project artefacts and controls. You will lead a team of technical, training and organisation change management specialist resources, meet key project milestones and implement complex and enterprise-wide technical solutions within the constraints of time, budget and expected quality outcomes.

You will also be responsible for leading the SharePoint to the Cloud and Document Management Solution (DMS) Stabilisation Projects. This Program will initiate the DMS Replacement Project and the Correspondence Management Solution Project, as well as two key foundational initiatives: 

1. Developing an Information Architecture and Information Management Framework (Governance).

2. Oversee the Organisational Change Management stream of the IM Program which will support the program, projects and initiatives.

Accountabilities will include:

  • Plan and coordinate the program and project activities and resources to deliver the required outcomes within the program budget and timeframes
  • Produce the required program and project documentation
  • Ensure appropriate governance and assurance activities
  • Develop and implement communication plans, organisational change management plans and benefit realisation plans
  • Liaise closely with all stakeholders including Project Executives, Project Board Members, Senior Users, Senior Suppliers as well as Senior Management and other Project Managers
  • Manage external vendors and subject matter experts
  • Provide effective management of risks, issues, conflicts, change requests and priorities
  • Manage the program and project budget and finances
  • Develop and maintain program and project schedules
  • Manage program and project resource allocations
  • Provide direction and support for the program and project teams
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the program and projects to all stakeholders
  • Ensure program and project administration activities are undertaken in accordance with internal governance and compliance practices

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience working within ICT Program / Project Teams
  • Experience navigating the Queensland Public Sector environment and/or similar large complex organisation
  • Experience and capability as a Program Director
